Sportscaster, Al Michaels, Charged With DUI

Sportscaster, Al Michaels, Charged With DUI

Legendary sports broadcaster, Al Michaels, has been charged with misdemeanor DUI stemming from his DUI arrest in California on April 19th.

Santa Monica officers reported Michaels made a U-turn in front of their DUI sobriety check point around 10PM.  Hmmm, seems like someone knew they had a little too much to drink!  Officers pulled Michaels over and immediately detected an odor of alcohol on his breath.  They continued their DUI investigation and had him perform the DUI field sobriety tests, of which he failed.  Al Michaels was arrested for DUI and taken to jail.

Good news for the voice of “Sunday Night Football”, his DUI breathalyzer test reveled a .08 and .09 blood alcohol level, right at the legal limit.  Additionally, Michaels doesn’t have any criminal history, thus, if Michaels hires a good DUI criminal defense attorney he has good fighting chances of avoiding jail time and getting his DUI charge reduced to a lesser charge.

Reese Witherspoon Is All Smiles – Despite Disorderly Conduct and DUI Pleas

Reese Witherspoon Is All Smiles – Despite Disorderly Conduct and DUI Pleas

Last Saturday, Oscar nominated actress Reese Witherspoon was spotted in LAX airport wearing a City of Atlanta Police baseball cap along with a smirky smile.  This wardrobe “peace making” or “up yours” moment occurred shortly after Reese and her husband, Jim Toth, pleaded guilty on Thursday to charges filed against them by the Atlanta Police.

Early in the morning on April 19th, Atlanta police saw, Jim Toth’s silver Ford Fusion swerving in and out of lanes.  They pulled him over, Reese was in the passenger’s seat, and could smell a strong odor of alcohol on their breaths, police suspected DUI.

Police began investigating Toth for DUI, having him perform the DUI field sobriety tests and blow into the DUI breath test.  Witherspoon, was becoming extremely agitated, and got out of the car.  The officer ordered her back into the car, of which she was compliant the first time.

However, the second time the drunk actress got out of the car, who repeatedly said she was a “U.S. citizen,” tried playing her celebrity card stating ” Do you know my name?  The officer replied, ” No, I don’t need to know your name.”  An irritated Reese responded with, ” You’re about to find out who I am … You are going to be on national news!”  The officer quickly handcuffed and arrested her for interfering with his DUI investigation.

Both Jim and Reese were arrested and taken to the police station.  Jim was charged with DUI, breathalyzer test results .139, and Reese charged with disorderly conduct.

After making public apologies for making poor decisions to drive drunk and disrespecting Atlanta police, the couple took responsibility for their actions and plead guilty to their charges.

Reese Witherspoon had to pay a $213.00 fine and her husband, pleading guilty to a DUI, was   ordered to perform 40 hours of community service, attend a DUI alcohol education program, and is on probation for 12 months.

Atlanta police recently relased statements concerning Reeses Atlanta police hat, saying they did not give it to her, it’s a knock off, and it’s ugly.

Farrah Abraham “Teen Mom” Reality Star, Charged with DUI for Being Sick?

Farrah Abraham “Teen Mom” Reality Star, Charged with DUI for Being Sick?

MTV’s “Teen Mom” reality star, Farrah Abraham, age 21, was arrested and charged with DUI (driving under the influence) last Monday at 1 in the morning.  When police asked Farrah to perform the DUI breathalyzer test, she failed repeatedly until one test finally read .147, almost twice the legal DUI limit in Nebraska.  Days later, Farrah spoke out to InTouch defending herself, ““Because I’m sick, I could not give an accurate breathalyzer test, due to coughing and shortage of breath.”

Farrah, mother of 4-year-old Sophia, who had been celebrating St. Patty’s Day with her sisters by sipping on some good ol drinks, wanted to go home around 12:30 AM.  Her sisters didn’t want to leave, so Farrah decided to go get the car from the parking lot and pick them up at the front door.  According to officials, Farrah made an uncontrolled wide turn and almost rear ended a police cruiser.  Police pulled Farrah over and asked her to take the DUI breath test and to perform the DUI field sobriety tests, both of which Farrah failed.

Farrah is adamant that she was not DUI that evening.  She continues to believe in magical shamrocks and leprechauns and that she failed the DUI breath test due to illness and flu-like symptoms.

Farrah’s “Because I”m sick..,” defense is not reasonable.  Medication could have a slight effect on the DUI breathalyzer’s reading but nothing to the extent of a high reading such as .147.  Farrah was most likely DUI, end of story!
