Svetlana Dreyfuss Fails to Escape – Cops and DUI / Hit-And-Run Charge

Svetlana Dreyfuss Fails to Escape – Cops and DUI / Hit-And-Run Charge

Svetlana Dreyfuss, wife of famous actor Richard Dreyfuss, tried to escape DUI trouble by fleeing the scene of her crime only to get caught 2 miles later.

Allegedly Svetlana was driving under the influence of alcohol on June 2nd in Encinitas, CA when she drove her car through a wooden fence and broke a high pressure water line.  Svetelana then tried to escape the damaged she caused and drove away from the scene.  San Diego Sheriff deputies caught up with her two miles down the road.

The deputies questioned Svetlana about her evening activities and she admitted to drinking one glass of wine before getting behind the wheel.  She took the field sobriety tests, which she told TMZ that she believes she passed, and obviously failed because she was arrested and charged with DUI and hit-and-run.  Here is a news flash to anyone who opts to take the field sobriety tests… YOU WILL ALWAYS FAIL, the tests are difficult and confusing to sober individuals and even more so for someone who is under the influence of drugs and or alcohol.  Additionally, law enforcement officers usually embellish and exaggerate field test results so the alleged individual under DUI investigation appears even more intoxicated.

It is in Svetlana’s best interest to hire a reputable DUI criminal defense lawyer, she is facing two serious charges.  Hopefully she will do her due diligence and do some online research and visit multiple defense attorneys in person to find the best fit, a lawyer she will feel comfortable with.  Prior to online research, Mrs. Dreyfuss should take a look at our post “Looking For A DUI or Criminal Defense Attorney?  Don’t Be Fooled By Fake Reviews!” to give herself a heads up on DUI attorneys possibly posting false client reviews on their website, she doesn’t want to be scammed.  Also, Svetlana should read “Choosing A DUI or Criminal Defense Attorney – Checklist” to be prepared to ask the right questions and look for certain legal attributes before she goes to any DUI defense attorney consultations.

Robbie Knievel DUI in a MOTOR HOME?

Robbie Knievel DUI in a MOTOR HOME?

This story takes the cake, it’s so unbelievable, yet somehow so believable.  Robbie Knievel, son of the famous daredevil Evil Knievel was arrested a few days ago for DUI.  Here’s the catch, Robbie was driving a motor home while under the influence and crashed it into multiple mobile homes and then fled the scene without stopping once.  The city of Sturgis police later found Robbie in a parking lot near the scene of the crime still inside his RV texting on his phone.  So crazy, did Robbie not realize he ran a large vehicle into large objects “houses” and think he could drive off without anyone knowing?

According to South Dakota police reports, Robbie may not have known what he was doing since he was obliterated while driving the motor home, he blew a 0.228 (three times the DUI legal limit) shortly after failing the DUI field sobriety tests.  Robbie, also a daredevil like his father, was arrested and charged with DUI.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he was charged with hit and run and reckless driving on top of the DUI charges.

South Dakota has already suspended his driver’s license and fined him $600.00.

Talk about a stunt that should never be repeated, Robbie is lucky he didn’t hurt anyone.

Seattle Police Charged With DUI

Seattle Police Charged With DUI

I realize Seattle police officers are not celebrities whom I usually blog about, but I found this recently released DUI story to be interesting and slightly funny.  Kironews.com just reported that two Seattle police officers were arrested and charged with DUI early Monday morning.  Yup you read that correct, 2 cops, here in Seattle, charged with DUI.

The two off-duty police officers, one male the other female, were driving through the SoDo district of Seattle when they crashed their car into a light pole.  According to a witness the car was still in working condition post crash and the driver, the female off duty officer, drove the car into the middle of the street, stopped the car, got out and switch seats with the male officer.  Very suspicious behavior!  The car then fled the crime scene with the male officer driving and the women officer riding shot gun.

The DUI cops were found 2 miles away from their light post hit-and-run crime scene passed out in their car, which was still in the street with the motor running.  When working police approached the car, they unfortuneately recognized their comrades.

The off-duty officers were arrested and booked at the police station.  The female’s BAC levels were .234 and .247 and the male’s BAC levels read .161 and .149, both well above Washington States DUI legal limit of .08

The female cop was processed with a DUI charge and the male officer was processed with DUI-physical control.  They may also be facing charges of hit-and-run for damaging the light post.

These 2 DUI police officers have already tarnished their reputation and could possibly lose their jobs.

A jingle comes to mind for the Seattle DUI cops:

Drunken cops, drunken cops
whacha gonna do, whacha gonna do
when the prosecutors come for you?

DUI cops, DUI cops
whacha gonna do, whacha gonna do
when the judge is sentencing you?
