High School Bus Driver Charged with DUI, Reckless Endangerment, and 36 Counts of Child Abuse

High School Bus Driver Charged with DUI, Reckless Endangerment, and 36 Counts of Child Abuse

Unbelievable newsworthy story originating out of Westminster Colorado, where high school bus driver, Burton Carpenter, allegedly consumed alcohol before getting behind the wheel of the bus to drive 30 high school football players to their September game.  Needless to say, police were called and Carpenter was arrested for DUI (Driving Under the Influence).

According to a Mountain Range football coach, Carpenter was so intoxicated that he couldn’t drive the bus straight, he was straddling lanes, and had to be directed back into the school parking lot where he crashed into a parked pickup truck.

A bystander claimed, Carpenter gloated that he had been drinking vodka from a 32oz. Gatorade bottle.

When Colorado police arrived on the scene, they noted Carpenter’s eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred, and when he exited the bus he fell down the steps catching himself on the side of the bus.  Police reported his BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) level was .20, over twice the legal DUI limit and claimed Carpenter openly admitted to drinking Vodka before driving.

Carpenter was arrested and taken to the police station.  In addition to being charged with DUI, Burton Carpenter was also formally charged with reckless endangerment and 36 counts of child abuse.  He is due back in court sometime in December.

The Adams School District reported they run criminal background checks on all bus drivers and Carpenter’s was clean when they hired him under a year ago.  However, police discovered he had lost his prior job as a nurse due to substance abuse problems.

My guess is Burton would be a good candidate for a deferred prosecution.  In Washington State, a deferred prosecution is a special program for those suffering with alcoholism.  The deferred prosecution is a five-year program which includes court supervision, monitoring and two years of alcohol/drug treatment.  If an individual successfully completes the five-year program without any violations the charge of driving under the influence (DUI) will be dismissed.  This is a great program for some because it creates a win win.

Rapper 50 Cent Strikes A Deal And Gets Domestic Violence Charges Dismissed!

Rapper 50 Cent Strikes A Deal And Gets Domestic Violence Charges Dismissed!

Today was a good day for celebrity rapper 50 Cent, real name Curtis James Jackson III.  Today in court, 50 Cent took a deal offered by the Los Angeles Prosecutors Office to plead guilty to only one of the five criminal charges that were filed against him for a domestic dispute back in June 2013.  By doing so, 50 Cent avoided time in the slammer and the other four criminal charges were dismissed which included the misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

So what happened back in June?  Allegedly, the 38 year-old rapper, actor, and entrepeneur, lost control of his emotions while at his baby’s mama’s LA condo.  Daphie Joy, mother to 50 Cent’s second son, called LA police claiming 50 Cent kicked down a door, physically kick her, and caused damage by smashing and throwing items all over her house including chandeliers, a TV, a lamp, personal belongings, and then went crazy in her closet throwing things around.  His temper tantrum that day caused an estimated amount of $7100.00 worth of damage.

Fifty Cent was arrested and charged with four counts of misdemeanor vandalism and one count of misdemeanor domestic violence.  He plead not guilt to all charges during his first court appearance but the judge still imposed a no contact order against 50 Cent stating he must stay at least 100 yards away from Daphie Joy at all times.  The judge also ordered Fifty to turn in all of his guns to authorities.

As of today, the “Get Rich or Die Tryin” rapper plead guilty to only one misdemeanor vandalism charge and was sentenced to three years of probation, 30 hours of community service, required counseling sessions, and repayment of $7100.00 to his baby’s mama Daphie Joy.

Cee Lo Green Charged With Sexual Assault And Possession of Drugs?

Cee Lo Green Charged With Sexual Assault And Possession of Drugs?

Is it true that one of our favorite judges on “The Voice” is being charged with sexual assault and possession of Ecstasy?  Well, yes and no.  Known not only for his musical talents but also for his unique and entertaining wardrobe choices, singer Cee Lo Green, has been charged with possession of a felony drug (Ecstasy) and the allegation of sexual assault has been dropped.

This case against Cee Lo Green, real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, began over a year ago when a women accused Cee Lo of slipping Ecstasy into her drink during dinner at a Los Angeles sushi restaurant.  After dinner the alleged victim blacked out and didn’t remember anything that happened the rest of the evening until the next morning when she woke up in Cee Lo’s bed naked.  Supposedly the women, not from LA, immediately went back home where she contacted a lawyer to try to collect money from Cee Lo for what had happened.  With no luck and no extra money in her pockets, the women then contact the police and filed a report, which was transferred to LA police.

After many months of police investigation, the Los Angeles County District Attorney decided not to file charges of sexual assault due to lack of evidence but did follow through with filing the felony charge of furnishing ecstasy.  According to sources, Cee Lo had been on numerous dates with the alleged victim and they had been sexually intimate on several occasions before this incident happened.

Green’s criminal defense attorney stated, “We are pleased that the Los Angeles County District Attorney has completed its investigation and concluded that the evidence did not support the false and unfounded claims made over a year ago.”

This morning Cee Lo was present at court with his defense attorney by his side, where he pled not guilty to the felony drug charge.  Before his court appearance, the singer told TMZ reporters he was relieved and not scared — relieved that he’s not being charged with sexual assault, and not scared of the drug charge.

If found guilty of the felony drug charge, Cee Lo could be singing behind bars, spending a maximum of four years in prison.  His next court date has been scheduled for sometime in November.  We will keep you posted on Cee Lo’s legal happenings.

As for “The Voice”, have no fear, Judge Cee Lo Green will not be fired and no changes will be made to this season.
