2nd DUI for “Bearing Sea Gold” Celeb

2nd DUI for “Bearing Sea Gold” Celeb

Alaska, the land of “The Final Frontier” was the location of Shawn Pomrenke’s second DUI arrest.  Pomrenke, star actor on Discovery Channel’s hit show “Bearing Sea Gold:  Under the Ice,”  was pulled over by law enforcement for speeding over 100 mph and later charged with DUI after blowing over the legal DUI limit.

Pomrenke’s need for speed lead to his November arrest.  Police reports indicate Pomrenke was traveling at chart topping speeds of 102 mph, along Nome, Alaska highways.  Police also noted his failure to use his signal while changing lanes.

After pulling Pomrenke over, Police suspected Pomrenke of drunk driving and asked him to take the portable breathalyzer test.  Pomrenke blew almost twice the legal limit, registering a result of .156.  The DUI legal limit in Alaska is .08, the same as Washington State.

He was arrested, his car was impounded, and he was taken to jail where he was charged with DUI.

To make matters worse, the reality TV star should have had an ignition interlock device installed in his car preventing him from driving under the influence, a court order from the first DUI he acquired a year ago.  Pomrenke can now expect to have “failure to comply with court orders” added to his new DUI charge.

Pomrenke’s first DUI was quite serious.  He hit a pedestrian and fled the scene of the crime, a big NO NO!  He was sentenced to 180 days in jail but only served less than weeks in the slammer… awhhh the power of being a local celebrity.

Pomrenke has a tough case ahead of him due to his breath test results and recent history of DUI.  It is definitely in Shawn Pomrenke’s best interest to hire a reputable DUI criminal defense attorney to fight for him.

What? Adam “Pacman” Jones Arrested During DUI Stop, But He Wasn’t The Driver?

What? Adam “Pacman” Jones Arrested During DUI Stop, But He Wasn’t The Driver?

Rule #1; Be respectful to the officer!  Nobody has gotten out of a legal situation by being disrespectful to law enforcement, on the contrary, it only makes matters worse.  During a recent DUI investigation, NFL pro player Adam Jones, aka Pacman, didn’t follow David O Defense’s Rule #1 and mouthed off to police officers which resulted in his arrest.  Crazy enough, the Cincinnati Bengles star cornerback wasn’t the individual originally in trouble that day.

Early Monday morning Ohio State Patrol pulled over the car in which Jones was a passenger.  The patrol officers suspected the driver, a women, to be DUI (driving under the influence) and asked her to perform field sobriety tests.  During the women’s DUI investigation, Jones began talking smack to the officers.  The officers didn’t appreciate the disrespectful words of Pacman and cuffed him.

Both Adam Jones and his gal pal were arrested and taken to jail.  The woman was charged with DUI and Jones was charged with disorderly conduct.  They were released later that day.

Don’t forget Rule #1 when under investigation for DUI or any other legal matter; Be respectful to the officer.

Farrah Abraham’s DUI Defense Attorney Keeps Her Out of the Pokey

Farrah Abraham’s DUI Defense Attorney Keeps Her Out of the Pokey

Remember “Teen Mom” reality star, Farrah Abraham denying she was DUI (driving under the influence) back in March when she was out partying with her sisters for St. Patty’s Day.  And just days after the DUI arrest, Farrah released statements in her defense that she was sick and not drunk, “Because I’m sick, I could not give an accurate breathalyzer test.”

Apparently, Farrah’s DUI defense attorney did not want to use “Because I’m sick..” as the primary defense theory of the case.  Instead, her criminal lawyer is having her plead guilty to the DUI charge on June 20th.

If the judge agrees with the recommendations made by her defense attorney and the prosecutors, Farrah will avoid jail time completely.  Farrah will be placed on probation, have her driving privileges revoked, and pay $5oo.00 in fines.  Another benefit with pleading guilty to the DUI charge, Farrah’s additional criminal charge of disorderly conduct will be dismissed.
