NBA Player Chris Bosh Burglarized – $340K Stolen

NBA Player Chris Bosh Burglarized – $340K Stolen

Wednesday night, April 4th, Miami Heat NBA player Chris Bosh was out celebrating his  birthday with his wife at a South Beach night club.  When he and his wife returned to their home around 12:30am they stumbled upon the worst B-Day gift ever…their house had been ransacked and robbed!

Bosh called police and reported 12 watches, 2 rings, purses, and $20,000.00 in cash was stolen. The value of the expensive goods taken was estimated at a whopping $340,000.00, the cost of a house!

Lucky for Bosh, the robbers must have known it was his birthday because they did not steal Bosh’s 2012 NBA championship ring, which was found on the closet floor.

Police are reviewing the home’s video surveillance system and surrounding neighborhood cameras hoping for a lead to catch the crooks.  If caught, the criminals will most likely be charged with residential burglary and theft.  Residential burglary is a class B felony with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prision and $20,000.00 fine.

Update on Chamique Holdsclaw’s Assault Charges

Update on Chamique Holdsclaw’s Assault Charges

Chamique Holdsclaw committed one of the worst girlfriend breakups in history by chasing down her girlfriend for ending their relationship, pulling a gun, and shooting up her car.  The former WNBA great did just that and more back in 2012 (see my blog “Former WNBA Player Chamique Holdsclaw’s Assault on Ex Girlfriend” for all the details).  Six official criminal charges have been filed against Holdsclaw for the attack on her ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lacy, also a former WNBA teammate.

Holdsclaw’s criminal charges include 2 counts of aggravated assault, 2 counts of second degree criminal damage, 1 count of first degree criminal damage, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.  That’s a nasty breakup!

If found guilty of all charges, Chamique Holdsclaw could serve up to 65 years in jail.

The message of Holdsclaw story 1) be careful in who you date,  2) sulk at home by yourself, watch movies, eat ice cream etc. when you go through a break up, don’t resort to violence, and 3) hire one hell of a defense attorney if you rack up 6 criminal charges!

Long List of Legal Charges for Ex-Husky Alameda Ta’amu

Long List of Legal Charges for Ex-Husky Alameda Ta’amu

Wow.  Alameda Ta’amu, a rookie defensive linemen for the Pittsburg Steelers, racked up a long list of legal charges including felonies and DUI.  According to the Seattle Times and komonews.com, Alameda Ta’amu was seen early Sunday morning driving a Lincoln Navigator by a Pittsburg off duty police detective.  The detective phoned police reporting erratic driving, speeding, swerving, and running red lights.  Ground patrolmen ordered Ta’amu to pull over but had to dive out-of-the-way to avoid being hit by the out of control SUV.  Police followed the SUV driven by the  22-year-old as he ran into a parked car injuring a women.  He continued to drive and hit several other cars until the SUV became disengaged.  Alameda Ta’amu got out of his car and ran from police, he was chased down, wrestled to the ground, handcuffed, and punched twice in the face for making an attempt to reach for his pant waist band for a possible weapon.

The ex-UW Husky football player, Alameda Ta’amu, had a breath test result of .196, twice the legal limit of .08.  He was arrested and charged with ten misdemeanors (one of them being a DUI), three counts of aggravated assault, aggravated assault while drunk driving and, felony counts for eluding police.

The General Manager of the Steelers, Kevin Colbert, had generic words about the matter, “We will gather more facts before providing any further comment.”
Alameda Ta’amu made very bad decisions that night, decisions I’m sure he will never forget the consequences of as he has yet to see them fully unfold.  A ruined name, possible jail time, thousands of dollars in court costs and attorney fees.  Probable NFL suspensions and/or being dropped by the Steelers all together.
Ta’amu has not played in a game for the Steelers this season.
